The Archaeological Museum in Alicante Spain (MARQ) is home to eight separate galleries that together provide a sense of archaeological history of the region.
The museum features a collection of ceramics and Iberian art. Some of its artifacts date back 100,000 years.
The museum, called the Museo Arqueológico Provincial de Alicante in Spanish, makes extensive use of multimedia presentations. It recently won the European Museum of the Year Award.
The Archaeological Museum is located at Plaza Dr. Gómez Ulla, northeast of the Alicante castle. It can be easily accessed using the Alicante Tram system (MARQ Station).
